AMMAN, Jordan, October 1, 2026 – The first cohort of wounded and injured military veterans graduated from the Veterans Entrepreneurship Program in Jordan, marking the successful completion of a nearly nine-month training that helped participants turn business ideas into viable, income-generating enterprises.
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mired bin Raad, chairman of the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers (HCDS), the program is implemented through a partnership led by Amideast Jordan in collaboration with Boeing [NYSE: BA] and HCDS.
The graduation ceremony on September 30 was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Mired bin Raad; Brigadier General Mohammad Bader Mahmoud Al‑Maqdadi, director of military training, representing the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Fahad Al Mheiri, Boeing president for the Middle East and North Africa; Fraser Currie, chief strategy and commercial officer at DAE Engineering; and Nour Alrasheed, country director of Amideast Jordan.
His Royal Highness Prince Mired bin Raad, chairman of the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers, said: “The program’s primary goal is to integrate injured military personnel into society, and I believe this goal has been achieved through the Veterans Entrepreneurship Program. We learned about many success stories. This is a promising start, and perseverance and continued effort are key to achieving even more.”
The program supported veterans from Amman, Zarqa, Irbid and Ajloun. It combined psychosocial support, entrepreneurship training and digital skills, including social media marketing, to help participants validate markets and prepare to launch their businesses. Each participant developed a bespoke business plan across sectors including tourism, services, creative industries, education, technology and others, with business models ranging from self‑employment ventures to micro and small enterprises.
“Veterans bring an unrivaled combination of discipline and dedication that strengthens any workplace and community”, said Fahad Al Mheiri, Boeing president for the Middle East and North Africa. “Boeing stands with those who have dedicated their lives to defending stability and resilience in Jordan and across the Middle East. By empowering veterans through this entrepreneurship program, we not only honor their service but also help create sustainable livelihoods that support families and Jordan’s economy.”
Participants were connected with established Jordanian firms and startups that offered mentorship, business development, access to capital and market-entry support. Joramco provided tailored business coaching, donated laptops and facilitated market connections to help graduates move from plans to launch.
“Investing in skills development and entrepreneurship is fundamental to building a more sustainable and inclusive economy”, said Fraser Currie, chief strategy and commercial officer at DAE Engineering. “This program demonstrates the value of collaboration in equipping participants with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to transform their ideas into successful businesses. At Joramco, we are proud to support initiatives that create new opportunities for Jordanian talent and contribute to a future filled with promise and potential."
Nour Alrasheed, country director of Amideast Jordan, said: “Entrepreneurship is not built through training alone. It takes confidence, practical tools, the right guidance and access to people and institutions that can help an idea move forward. Through the collective commitment of Boeing, the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers, Joramco and our wider network of partners, the program has created support around each participant. What matters most is that they leave the program not simply with an idea, but with a clear path to turn it into a sustainable source of income and greater economic independence”.
Fourteen graduates completed the program with validated business concepts, implementation plans and a professional network for next‑stage financing and market entry. The program will return in 2027 to extend support to a new group of veterans.
The Veterans Entrepreneurship Program builds on the success of an earlier initiative by Amideast Jordan, Boeing and HCDS focused on preparing veterans for jobs in tourism and aviation. Such programs represent a replicable model of inclusive economic empowerment, helping veterans and their families adjust and thrive after transitioning from military to civilian life.
