Qatar to establish a new legal entity Boeing Aerospace Doha LLC
Since our partnership began in 2006, Qatar Airways has made landmark orders of Boeing 777s, 747-8 Freighters and 787 Dreamliner airplanes.
We are proud to be a part of Qatar Airways’ success story and to support Qatar’s ambitious growth plans in aviation, trade and tourism, with more than 150 Boeing airplanes currently in the airline’s fleet and more than 130 Boeing airplanes on order.
As the launch customer of the new Boeing 777-8 Freighter, Qatar Airways has ordered 74 777X passenger and freighter airplanes. Boeing’s newest products will support Qatar Airways as it expands its passenger and cargo capacity.
In May 2025, Qatar Airways purchased up to 210 widebody jets, which sets new records as the largest widebody order for Boeing, including the largest order for 787 Dreamliners and Qatar Airways largest-ever order. This purchase also includes additional orders for Boeing’s new 777-9. With this order, Qatar Airways became the largest customer for the 787 Dreamliner in the Middle East.
Additionally, Boeing has been working closely with Qatar Airways Cargo in developing “connected cargo” solutions to enable better operational efficiency.
In 2008, Qatar became the first Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nation to operate the C-17 Globemaster III airlifters. Since then, Boeing has been working closely with the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF).
Boeing provides support to the QEAF by facilitating iconic platforms, including the F-15QA (Qatar Advanced) fighters, the C-17 Globemaster transport airplanes and the AH-64 Apache helicopters.
Boeing defense programs have played a crucial role in safeguarding Qatar’s air, land and sea borders, as well as conducting humanitarian missions worldwide. Additionally, they have been instrumental in monitoring airspace during significant events such as the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Qatar Airways takes advantage of Boeing’s service offerings, which encompass spare parts, training solutions and modification services.
Qatar Airways benefits from Boeing’s digital aviation solutions providing real-time access to maintenance, flight and aircraft performance information, enabling the airline to optimize efficiency and reduce carbon emissions and operating costs.
Boeing works closely with the QEAF, delivering comprehensive training and sustainment services for its C-17 fleet. Boeing provides spare parts, support and test equipment, maintenance, training for aircrew and maintenance personnel for Qatar’s AH-64 Apache helicopters.
Boeing offers in-country spare parts, maintenance, training, program management and logistics support for the F-15QA (Qatar Advanced) fighters. To ensure optimal mission readiness and seamless support for all defense platforms, Boeing is expanding its workforce in Qatar.
Fleet renewal is an important lever to reduce aviation’s environmental impact. Qatar Airways operates one of the youngest fleets in the world and has Boeing’s newest and most environmentally friendly airplanes on order, including the 787, 777-9, 777-8F.
Qatar Airways also uses a wide range of Boeing’s digital tools and services. Such solutions and flight procedures reduce carbon emissions by 10%.
Boeing and Qatar Airways are both members of the World Economic Forum’s Clean Skies for Tomorrow coalition, working diligently to establish a viable pathway for the adoption of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).
Boeing has extensive experience in sharing sustainability expertise with air forces and airlines globally, and is eager to expand collaboration in Qatar on the uptake of SAF for both commercial and defense fleet.
Boeing supports a range of initiatives to accelerate opportunities for young people in Qatar. Over the last decade, Boeing invested $ 2 million in STEM education and workforce development in the country.
Over the last five years alone, more than 2,000 students have participated in the entrepreneurship program and STEM workshops organized by INJAZ Qatar in partnership with Boeing.
