DUBAI, Nov. 19, 2025 — Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Mubadala Investment Company, an Abu Dhabi based sovereign investor, announced the extension of the Boeing–Mubadala Internship Co-Op, celebrating the program’s 10-year milestone since its launch in 2015. The signing ceremony took place at Dubai Airshow 2025 and was signed by Fatima AlMarzouqi, Director, Community Outreach, at Mubadala and Brian Long, Managing Director, Middle East & North Africa at Boeing, and witnessed by Homaid Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO at Mubadala, and Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President of Boeing for the Middle East, Türkiye, Africa & Central Asia (METACA).
Established to accelerate Emirati talent development in aerospace, the program offers UAE engineering undergraduates an immersive, 18-week placement at Boeing facilities in the United States, with hands-on exposure across fabrication, manufacturing engineering, liaison engineering and industrial engineering. Alumni have progressed into roles across the UAE’s aerospace ecosystem, including at Strata Manufacturing, Sanad Aerotech and Space42, and several students have filed patent applications stemming from innovations developed during their placements.
Homaid Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO at Mubadala said: “Over the past decade, this program has transformed into a strategic engine for Emirati talent. Our partnership with Boeing continues to open global pathways for young engineers, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and exposure needed to lead the future of the UAE’s aerospace sector.”
“This program is about turning potential into capability,” said Ghata-Aura. “For a decade, Boeing and Mubadala have invested together to give Emirati engineers real-world experience on the factory floor and in advanced labs. This experience translates directly into value for the UAE’s rapidly growing aerospace sector. The continuation of our partnership will equip more UAE graduates with the skills and outlook to lead the next era of aviation.”
Boeing and Mubadala signed a five‑year extension and will double the program’s intake to 12 students in upcoming cohorts, enabling more Emiratis to gain hands‑on experience in advanced aerospace manufacturing. The renewal underscores Boeing’s role as the program’s launch partner and first mover in building industry talent pathways for the UAE.
This year, six Emirati engineering students are completing their 18-week training at Boeing South Carolina, home of the 787 Dreamliner, with graduation scheduled for December 2025.
Since 2015, the program has helped develop the UAE’s aerospace manufacturing base and support a sustainable talent pipeline. The renewed partnership with further expansion plans aligns with national priorities to deepen local engineering and production capabilities by giving participants exposure to complex manufacturing environments and then bringing those skills back to the UAE.
