Boeing Signs Agreements with Kuwait Airways and Australian College of Kuwait to address Kuwait’s Aviation Training Needs.
Cooperation to deploy a Boeing training program for pilots and technicians
Kuwait City, Kuwait, April 30, 2018 - Boeing (NYSE:BA) signed memorandum of agreements with Kuwait Airways Company (KAC) and another with the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) as part of its investment through the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA).
Together, Boeing, KAC, ACK, and KDIPA are evaluating avenues on how Boeing can best contribute to the execution of Kuwait’s Vision 2035, via an investment in the aviation sector. Boeing has committed to deploying a training technology solution to enable pilot and maintenance training to be delivered and tracked more efficiently and effectively.
The Middle East will require 3,350 new airplanes worth about $730B by 2035. That means the region will need approximately 63,000 pilots and 66,000 technicians. Kuwaitis who are now being sent abroad could fulfil their training requirements in the near future in Kuwait.
Through working together agreements with Kuwait Airways and ACK, Boeing will provide its training technology solution at both facilities, keeping the majority of the pilot training program in Kuwait. In addition, Boeing is exploring opportunities to deliver specialty maintenance courses on the ACK campus.
“This program addresses key pillars of Kuwait’s Vision 2035. It addresses Kuwait’s human capital needs in the aviation sector. It supports economic diversification through the introduction of new capabilities and the opportunity to reinvest educational funds back into the country,” said Marc Allen, president of Boeing International. “Additionally, these agreements position Kuwait to utilize Boeing’s latest training technology solutions and methodologies”
“We are very pleased that this agreement between Boeing and Kuwait Airways will bring value-added training opportunities for Kuwait Airways’ existing and new pilots and technicians,” said Yousef Al Jassem Chairman of Kuwait Airways. “With the rapid growth of the regional commercial aviation industry, this is the right time to enhance capabilities in Kuwait.”
Mr. Sager Al-Sharhan, Deputy Managing Partner Industry said “Boeing is a world leading organization that we are proud to work with, to give our students the opportunity to have high quality and international training at the premises of ACK. This agreement will contribute to achieve ACK’s strategic direction, vision and mission and to prove ACK Chairman’s - Mr. Abdullah Al-Sharhan - philosophy of enabling human potential within a culture of care”.
