Boeing Employees spend the day at Shafallah Center
Doha, Qatar, May 2, 2017 - Boeing (NYSE: BA) is reinforcing its commitment to the community in Qatar by supporting children at the Shafallah Center in Doha.
As part of Boeing’s global corporate citizenship efforts, Boeing’s offices around the world are encourages volunteer to support the local community all year round. This month Boeing employees in Qatar spend several hours at Shafallah Center leading a variety of activities including kite flying, and painting among others.
On this occasion, Ms. Amal Al Mannai, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Foundation for Social Work and Acting managing director of Shafallah Center, thanked the CEO of Boeing in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, Mr. Bernard Dunn, for his attendance on this event. "We are delighted to have Boeing employees and their interaction with our children with disabilities and we thank them for this wonderful initiative, and we are honored to host them for the first time in the Center. We seek to integrate and spread awareness in all areas. We are working to promote the social integration of persons with intellectual disabilities and autism and raise awareness of disability issues and the rights of persons with disabilities like their peers to reach a balanced society based on the principle of justice and equality of opportunity without discrimination.”
Based on the mission of Qatar Foundation for social Work, Shafallah Center help people with intellectual disabilities and autism by providing model services in the state of Qatar, in the areas of education, rehabilitation, community awareness, and human rights support in order to achieve more independent life and to activate their inclusion in the society.

Over the years, Boeing has supported the community in Qatar through a number of partnerships focused on entrepreneurship, STEM education, and workforce development.
