Industrial and Academic Partnerships

Boeing has partnered with Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries and Alsalam Aerospace Industries to extend its industrial footprint and laid the groundwork for the Saudi Rotorcraft Support Company (SRSC) in Saudi Arabia. Along with Saudi Arabian Military Industries, Boeing supports the kingdom’s Vision 2030 ambition of localizing a significant proportion of its military expenditure. This collaboration aimed to indigenize most maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) services for the kingdom's fixed and rotary-wing military aircraft.

In 2020, Alsalam Aerospace Industries (AAI), in partnership with Boeing, concluded the first in-country conversion of an F-15S aircraft to the F-15SA variant. AAI is manufacturing new wings, forward fuselages, pylons, and among other upgrades.

Further amplifying its commitment to Saudi Arabia's aerospace industry, Boeing, alongside the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program of the Kingdom, Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company, and the Saudi Arabian Mining Company, formalized a Memorandum of Understanding to advance the Kingdom’s aerospace industry and infrastructure, including the production of aluminum products to the material specifications of Boeing and the broader industry.

Boeing has taken significant steps in education and research to partner with prominent Saudi institutions. It co-founded Alfaisal University, a collaboration with the King Faisal Foundation, a collective of Saudi businesses and multinational corporations, marking the inception of the kingdom's first private university. Further strengthening its academic ties, Boeing joined the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) industrial collaboration program. This endeavor was fortified when Boeing Research & Technology inaugurated its office at KAUST, fostering enhanced engagements with academics and companies keen on collaboration through research and development. Concurrently, in collaboration with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Boeing launched the Decision Support Center in Riyadh which acts as a hub for innovation among kingdom-based clients and allies, streamlining decisions related to the modernization and interoperability of aerospace and defense solutions.

Boeing's multifaceted academic and industrial partnerships underscore its dedication to fostering growth, collaboration, and innovation within Saudi Arabia's aerospace and defense sectors.
